We celebrated the 150th anniversary of the University of Arkansas during the Come As You Arkansas event on Friday, Sept. 10. Hundreds of people including, visitors and alums, students, faculty and staff, participated in the daylong series of events on campus.
“Come as You Arkansas was a wonderful celebration of the U of A’s history, present and future,” said Charles Robinson, interim chancellor. “It was delightful to see people from across the Razorback community – students, staff, faculty, alumni and guests – all together and relishing the day on campus. I enjoyed meeting with so many great folks and even had the chance to take a Salsa dancing lesson at the Multicultural Center’s open house.”
Student Affairs staff took part in many of the activities across campus with some deparments hosting events of their own – from open houses at the Food Pantry and Multicultural Center to decorating Razorback cookies at the Arkasnas Union.

“The campus was bustling with energy among students, faculty, alumni and special guests. Although we don’t know the total number of participants, it was so much fun seeing the generations around campus – from preschoolers attending 4-H activities to alumni who graduated many, many years ago calling the Hogs with Coach Mike Neighbors and the marching band,” said Amy Linimon, director of donor engagement.
