How long have you been at the University of Arkansas in Student Affairs? What have you enjoyed most about your time here?
I enjoy the mentorships I have developed over the past 5 years. I enjoy getting to know the students and mentoring them into adults.
Tell us a little about your role in Student Affairs. What brings you joy in this role?
In my current role, I oversee a campus-wide professional development called Career Track Razorbacks. I have seen great growth in our partnerships, but my growth comes from the students achieving their goals while acquiring the tools we teach them.
What is the greatest misconception people have about Student Affairs and how do you break that?
I’m not aware of the greatest misconception about Student Affairs. However, I noticed that many people think that Career Development Center places students in jobs. We can not legally do that and that has never been our goal. We strive to give all students the tools they need to accomplish their post-graduation plans.
What do you like to do with your time outside of the University?
I enjoy gardening, dancing (Zumba), playing with my dog Kingsley, and serving the community with my sorority Sigma Gamma Rho.
What do you hope students and colleagues will remember about your interactions?
We all stumble sometimes, but no matter what I am here to help them excel
