Tell us something about your academic passions and how those relate to your role in Student Affairs program or department?

I feel passionate about creating beautiful memories for other people. This is why I would love to be an event planner. When I started working at the Arkansas Union Events it gave me the tools to understand the physical labor that involves an event which I think is really important. Now that I work as an Events Intern I see the administrative part of the job. I have meetings with customers, I learn how to use the online system we use and it is in general another type of experience. Together I am getting a well-rounded experience.

What has been your greatest experience outside of the classroom?

Definitely being part of the events that let me share my culture through music, presentations, discussions, and activities with people from all over the world. Additionally, I would say that having the chance to have experience working in the field I am studying is a thing that I enjoy and makes me proud.

What advice would you give new students about getting involved on campus?

I would tell them to find a Student Organization that fits their interests. Volunteering opportunities are also amazing to find something to work for. University offers a wide variety of events and groups to choose from.

What do you like to do with your time outside of the university?

I love to bake, play music and crochet. I also enjoy watching movies, spending time with friends and calling my family back at home.

When do you plan to graduate and what is coming next for you?

I expect to graduate in May 2025. My objective after graduation is to find my passion and work on it to live happily in the future.

Is there anything else you would like to add or let our readers know?

Starting college is scary but I would tell incoming freshmen that it is going to be okay. This University offers so many options to be involved on campus, to build your passions, to meet people and to find yourself. Be brave and strong.
