Tell us something about your academic passions and how those relate to your role in Student Affairs program or department?

When I first started my college journey, I did not know that Student Affairs was an option. I went in thinking I was going to be an Athletic Trainer. I stumbled upon Student Affairs after joining my Sorority. I attended my first conference and remember sitting in one of the key note sessions thinking I can see myself making a career out of this and that is what I attend to do.

What has been your greatest experience outside of the classroom?

The greatest experience that I have had outside the classroom is all of the hands on learning I am getting from my Graduate Assistantship (GA). In my GA position with Greek Life  I am able to get real life practice that I will be able to use once I graduate from the University of Arkansas.

What advice would you give new students about getting involved on campus?

I would start by telling them my favorite quote, though it is from We Bought a Zoo, it is great advice to live by. “You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it” Sometimes it is hard to put yourself out there especially as a freshman, but it is so worth it. Who knows, you may be finding a new passion that will open the door to a new career opportunity.

What do you like to do with your time outside of the university?

Outside of the university I am involved in an organization that is very near and dear to my heart, Central Missouri Honor Flight. The Honor Flight takes veterans back to Washington DC to visit the memorials dedicated in their honor. This is such a rewarding organization to be apart of. When I am not flying with hero’s I like to explore NWA or curl up on the couch and catch up on Survivor.

When do you plan to graduate and what is coming next for you?

MAY 2023! I plan to graduate this coming May and I am so very excited! What’s next? I am still figuring out all of the details, but I know that I will be helping students find their why and passion.  I plan to stay within the Division of Student Affairs, specifically with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Is there anything else you would like to add or let our readers know?

I believe the things you do outside the classroom is just as important as what is done inside.
