The Division of Student Affairs touches the lives of every student at the University of Arkansas, no matter the major they study. Student Affairs creates innovative programs that educate and inspire, support Arkansan, first generation, underrepresented, and veteran students, and contribute to their post-graduation success. We accomplish this, in part, through our many scholarships, which anyone can support.

The Division awards more than 175 scholarships to students every year. This support helps them in many ways, from covering the cost of attendance, to supplementing a study abroad experience, to providing on campus meals plans for those in need.

The scholarship application period for students is open Jan. 1 through Feb. 15, 2025. All current students, incoming freshmen, and incoming transfer students are encouraged to apply. Students must be admitted to the University of Arkansas and have activated their account to access the applications.

By giving to one of our many scholarships you are helping students in a very tangible way, and you are also helping us carry out our Mission to “support the whole student by cultivating transformative experiences and environments that promote student well-being, sense of community, and success.”

One of these transformative scholarships is the Student Affairs Meal Plan Scholarship.

This scholarship supports students by reducing their financial obstacles and food insecurity. A growing number of students experience significant unmet financial need, in part due to the rising costs of food, housing, and utilities. Providing scholarships to close their funding gap helps keep these students in school, focused on their studies and ultimately graduation.

“Ending food insecurity and helping students succeed are always important to Richard and myself,” said John Berry, who provided the initial seed money for the Meal Plan Scholarship with his partner Richard Anderson. “As first-generation students, Richard and I know the real struggles that many students face; hunger should not be one of them.”

This scholarship provides students with campus meal plans and is awarded on a rolling basis, and in varying amounts, to maximize the effectiveness of the scholarship and to help students afford the cost of attending the University of Arkansas.

There are dozens of scholarships to which anyone can contribute, from the PRIDE in Education scholarship to leadership awards, to multiple Greek Life scholarships.
