Tell us something about your academic passions and how those relate to your role in Student Affairs program or department?

Throughout all my involvement on campus, what ties my passions together is a love for writing and commitment to accessibility. Through my position as a content creator for the Division of Student Affairs, I am able to carry out both. This job has given me valuable experience that will benefit my future career in journalism or communications, all while exposing me to new initiatives on our campus and giving me a platform to share resources with the wider student body.

What has been your greatest experience outside of the classroom?

Definitely my involvement with the Arkansas Traveler. I did not have previous journalism experience before coming to university, but the Traveler staff took me in my very first week on campus and served as not only outstanding mentors but also friends, helping me adjust to college life. As a sophomore, I was already able to take on a position as the lifestyles editor, which has granted me endless reporting and networking opportunities. Through the newspaper, I have discovered my career passion and found some of my very best friends.

What advice would you give new students about getting involved on campus?

Do it!! Do not be overwhelmed by the size of this campus or the number of registered student organizations. This large scale just means there is something for everyone. If you find groups that align with your passions, they will not feel like work or extra responsibilities; they will simply be an outlet for learning, community, and overall engagement.

What do you like to do with your time outside of the university?

I love doing anything and everything with my amazing group of friends I have found on campus: trying new foods, playing tennis, watching movies. When I am by myself, I love to journal, listen to music, and attend concerts or theatrical productions. The Walton Arts Center, Walmart AMP, and UA Theatre are my favorite places to spend my weekend.

When do you plan to graduate and what is coming next for you?

I plan to graduate in May 2026 and am keeping my future career options open. So far, I have been able to work on campus through student media and the Division of Student Affairs and intern at Art Bridges Foundations in Bentonville. This summer, I will be a copywriting intern at Stone Ward, a full-service ad agency in Little Rock. I am confident my work experience has given me a strong foundation to face whatever comes my way post-graduation.

Is there anything else you would like to add or let our readers know?

The University of Arkansas is an amazing campus for fostering community and involvement. Do not be afraid to take risks and get involved; you never know what opportunities will come your way!
